UPDATE

Just an update on the garage - looking good.  But it was noted that there is no window in the small room on the main floor - just the single garage door.  In the winter with the door closed some natural light may be good.  Just a thought.  We enjoyed a camp fire on Axe last nite with John and Linda.  It was fun!!  Linda and I played with our cameras.

A VIEW

Just tried the new camera in the panoramic mode - not bad.  All I have to do is hold down the shutter button and move in the direction you want and then remove your finger when you want to stop.  I'll have to do this in the boat in the middle of the lake!!

BTW this is not my new camera, this is Rejean's new one - paid $78 for it at Walmart.  My camera doesn't do this.  His old camera died too.  Everything happens at once.

A NEW ROCK

I found a new rock in my travels today and brought it home the way the "Sisters" do - in the footrest of my 4 wheeler.  It joins the other similar one we found a couple of weeks ago.  I'll have to check it out and see what kind it is.  I know it's not a Puddingstone...

ZOOM ZOOM

Why I will never go in the garage again!!!!!  I spotted this beast from across the garage and just happened to have my new camera with me.  I zoomed in on him and these are the results.  It crawled into the shadows and I lost track of him.  I hate it when they have meat on their bones.

FOR YOU, BRENT AND NAT

Looking good!!  Pictures taken today Wednesday June 25th.  I'll get more each time I am over there and keep you updated.
Any thing you want me to focus on?

Your man door is framed but covered with the aspenite - you can see it in the 4th picture.  I first thought they had forgotten it but it's there.  Me of little faith :o)

A WEEKEND GETAWAY

Ron and Mary were heading up to Hinkler on Friday so we decided to surprise them by heading up ourselves on Saturday just for the weekend.  It was a beautiful 2 days - the bugs weren't that bad and it was nice and warm.  And I got a chance to play with my camera again.  Everything was fine with the campsite and trailers.  When Ron and Mary returned from their 4 wheeler ride, there we were to greet them.  As usual, after dinner we had our Euchre games.  It was a cool evening and made it very easy to sleep.  Breakfast is always delicious with Ron in charge of the omelettes.  I got a couple of creatures to pose for me - the grey toad was a bonus find - the Robin must have stood in the same spot for 5 minutes just watching us.  And the snake that lives under the storage shed came out this morning and slithered into the bush for breakfast - I just happened to see him and got a couple of good shots.  The moth was on our front door when we got home.  It wasn't doing so well which is why he was still there in the middle of the day.  He was beautiful.
It was nice to get away from work if only for a couple of days.  Next time we fish!!!!

MORE PICTURES

I got some pictures of the Dragon Flies - they come out just when you can't stand the mosquitoes anymore.  They are our friends.
And a picture of the wood splitter.  We worked 6 hours today transferring wood from Rejean's wood shed to mine, then splitting the wood we had and stacking it in mine.  I pretty have all my wood for next winter.  We are just waiting on the delivery of 2 bunks to block and split for next year.  Oh Joy Oh Joy!!

PLAYING WITH MY NEW CAMERA

As you know my old camera lost it's brain so I have been looking for a new one.  I tried the Kodak one but found it too big.  After researching on line, I finally decided on a Canon Power shot 600HS and I picked it up yesterday in the Sault at Future Shop.  I got a chance to play with it today over on Axe while we were fixing Joanne and Mitch's water at their camp.  I am very pleased with it.  It has an 18 x optical zoom and some fun settings I am still getting used to.
The first picture is off a couple of pups who were over visiting us.  The next one is just a view from the bunkie deck - nice colours!!  I tried the zoom on the little island way in the distance on Axe and the 2 resident Loons.  The merganser was walking on the neighbour's deck but took off when all the hammering started.
And the last picture is of some company we had later that afternoon.  John's brother Michael was up with his 2 friends from the Windsor area.  From the left is Rejean, John, Ken, Roger and last but not least, John's brother Michael.  Hi Guys!!!  After this they were headed back to John's for dinner which was going to be the fish they caught yesterday and today.  Enjoy!!

This camera is small and compact - just what I wanted, and the features are a bonus.  Only one thing - it didn't come with a cord to connect with my computer - I have to use the memory card to upload my pictures.  WTF?

MY NEW LAWN MOWER

Meet my new lawn mower - on it's first outing.  We didn't need a new lawn mower as the old one still did it's job but having used Joanne and Mitch's new lawn mower - same kind - I declared I wanted a new self propelled lawn mower.  And as we all know "Whatever Janet wants, Janet gets"  "Happy Wife Happy Life"  Blah Blah Blah.  This beauty is a dream to use - all you really have to do is steer it.  And with all the lawns I have to cut - ours, Parker's, Joanne and Mitch's. Stacey and Andrew's and Bill and Barb's, well, I needed something easy.  It starts with the first pull and practically pulls you up slopes.  I have become quite good at maneuvering it along the sides of the lawns and over holes and mounds of ants and rocks.
Canadian Tire on sale this week.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

A repeat of the same picture from last year but I don't have a lot of pictures of my Father.  I dug the bottom picture out of my "box of pictures".  Sorry it is a bit blurry but it kind of was that kind of day too.  The day I got married - the first time.  One of the few times my father wore a suit.  Good memories of my Father that day.
My Father was a hero.  He was a pilot for Levens Brothers out of the Windsor Airport.  He flew the mail over to Pelee Island and took the pheasant hunters back and forth during hunting season.  One night he received a call that there was an emergency on the island.  There was a woman in labour    who needed to be picked up and taken to the hospital in Windsor.  There had never been a night landing on the island before and there were no lights on the runway.  The people on the island used their car headlights to light the runway and it was a successful landing and takeoff.  There was a write up in the Windsor Star and a picture of Father getting out of his plane the next day.  He said it was an uneventful flight.  But we knew better.

He did good in his life.
