LEAP DAY

Dump day today.  Every Saturday during the winter.  Rejean went to the dump today while I blew snow.  I am getting very good at it.  I did it without supervision and I did a great job if I do say so myself.
The top photo is of the depths of Axe Lake in wood done by a local artist for Ron and Darlene.  It is quite the work of art.  My nephew Steve Pomerleau is doing something similar for clients of his.  It is very unique.
The bottom picture is of garbage on the road in front of our property.  A piece of tire right in the middle of the road.  I had to go and retrieve it before it caused damage to passing vehicles the other day.  Because our local dump does not take old tires, I have to find someplace to put it or use it around the property.  It is an ongoing effort to pick up the garbage people leave along out beautiful highway.  Makes me sad.

ANOTHER SMALL PROJECT DONE

We took the bbq into the garage to work on the burners and give it a good cleaning.  We strapped it to the loader on the tractor and it was easy to move it.
We replaced the burners and some other things as it was pretty rusted out.  These things are not built to last a long time.  It was difficult to separate the igniters from the burners as they were really rusty.  We got them replaced and I cleaned the outside and after a couple of hours it was back in place.
It was beautiful out today.  Nice and sunny and very warm.  We sat and had out wine in the sunroom for the first time this year.  If you sat in the sun, it was nice.

PIZZA

Coming from Windsor Ontario where they have the best pizza in the world, I have always had to settle with Pizzas up north  But I recently found Kim Kline in Thessalon who makes Pizza out of her house and it is really good.  I added some extra cheese and some extra ham and it was delicious.  It does fill the gap until I can get back to Windsor to have a real Pizza!!

MORE OF THE SAME

We went to Eliott Lake the other day to visit with Marilou.  It always surprises me the amount of snow they get.  But it could be said that there is no place to put the snow.  Anyway, the snow is pretty high around there.
I have been busy blowing snow with Rejean recuperating from his hernia operation.  I have been lucky that there hasn't been a lot of snow but I have had to blow the snow the last 3 times.  And each time he is out directing me and making sure I do it right.  He says that the next time he won't be there to direct me and I will be on my own.  No problem.  Looking forward to it.

GOT SNOW

I know you must be tired of hearing of all our snow but I know someplace in Southern Ontario it was 54 degrees on the weekend.  So here are some snow pictures just so you don't feel left out.
The top two were taken at the Trading Post that show the curls of ice and snow off the smaller building.  We had the same thing on our garage as you can see in the other photos.  It is the second time the snow has come off the garage roof this winter.  Usually it only happens once but we have had some heavy snow falls this winter so we are prepared for it to happen again.  I blame it all on my "Just Say Snow" stone.
