BETTER PICTURE...

...of that little squirrel that jumps from the tree onto the bird feed and squeezes through the bars and eats to his little heart's content.  When you go up to the feeder to shoo him away, he waits til the last moment then jumps spread eagle thru the air to the tree.  The funniest thing I have ever seen.  Makes me laugh.  I let him eat for a while before I shoo him away...

NOW WHAT?

A new ceiling in the work out room done.  Checked off the list of projects to do while social distancing up north.  It took about 5 days to complete.  One day was spent measuring and planning and getting the room ready.  Not counting the time we spent making the moldings and painting them. The old ceiling was starting to show it's age.  Some screw heads were starting to show and the hatch was horrendous.  It is the same ceiling as the upstairs but on a smaller scale.  Lots of up and down ladders and holding planks in place.  But the result is beautiful.  All the scrape was thrown in the sunroom waiting to be cleaned out at the completion.  I washed all the floors when we were done.
For the next week, I will be catching up on my stuff - like cleaning out closets and cupboards.  That should keep me busy for a few days or so.

INSOLATION IN THE NORTH

If I had to be isolated anywhere in the world until things calm down, I can think of no better place to be than HOME.  We still have tons of snow and ice and lots of firewood so we are good for a long time.  We are keeping busy with a lot of small projects around the house and one major one - replacing the ceiling in the workout room.  We have all the supplies and are set to start this week.
We are keeping entertained watching the squirrel inside the bird feeder.  today, we saw how he does it.  He jumps from the tree.  He climbs up the tree and judges his position and distance from the feeder - sometimes he goes higher and sometimes lower but he always seems to be successful in the jump.  We let him feed for a few minutes, then go out and shoo him away.  He always jumps at the last second and it is so funny.
Today we went to town.  I had to get some prescriptions renewed and a few groceries.  Rejean went into the stores as I have COPD and tend to cough a bit and in today's environment I didn't want people to be afraid of me or run me out of town.

I was one of those people who wasn't too concerned with the CoVid 19 virus when I first heard about it.  I compared the flu numbers with the CoVid 19 numbers and thought people were over reacting.  I was wrong about that.  I am taking it very seriously.  I hope you are as well.

Stay safe!

THE BOYS

It has been a while since I posted any pictures of the boys.  They are out of school as well.  Their schools closed down on March 8th because of the Corona Virus.  I imagine it will be closed longer than the 8th.  Looks like Jodie took them for a bike ride in their little community.  Spinney's is the little market in their compound that sells just about anything and is a favourite stop for them on their adventures.
In the top picture Charlie is on the left and Monty is on the right.  Looks like they took their stuffies along for the ride.  In the bottom picture, Charlie is hugging the camel I bought for them when they were babies and Jodie said Charlie asked her to send me the picture.  Brought a little tear to my eye.
They are safe and that is all I care about.  But I wish they were here with me.

STILL WINTER UP HERE

We were in Windsor for a couple of weeks just recently and it was very different than our home up north.  there was no snow and the grass was turning green.  My sister-in-law had crocuses coming up in her front garden.  I did't have to wear my boots or my winter coat.  It was nice.
We came home and immediately had to blow snow.  The icicles were hanging from the roof which was kind of neat.
It was a long drive home last Sunday.  We took the Canadian way to avoid any issues at the borders.  We stopped and shopped at the Costco in Sudbury and we are good for supplies for the next 14 days.  I feel we are in the best place to be during this stressful time.
I know that my family and people that I love are safe so I am happy.

THE NEW NORMAL

When we go away, our Mail Ladies take good care of our mail for us.  The last time I was away, I brought them back necklaces and earrings from Florida.  This trip we left a roll of toilet paper and a pair of nitrile gloves each.  I am sure they will appreciate the thought.  They will find them in the mail box today.  Enjoy!!
