It is officially spring as the dock is now down. The ice was completely out on May 5th this year and, hard to believe, but it was the same day last year as well. Consistently consistent. But as you can see, the water levels are very high. Our little stream is just roaring from the run off over the Beaver dam. And speaking of the Beaver, we watched him for a good 10 minutes last evening. I saw him swimming across the lake towards the dam and we both got our binoculars and got a good look at him. He's a big one. So far no damage and he has not been trying to dam up the stream but he did down a tree out by the mailbox - didn't take it, just felled it. I saw the incriminating wood chips around the base of the tree. But he has been taking down cedars - go figure.
But it is nice to finally see water and not ice.
