RESCUE ON THE HIGH SEAS

We were on our way back in one nite and noticed a person in a boat waving at us - we waved back but noticed that the cap on his motor was off so we quickly decided that he must be waving us down and not just being friendly. We pulled along side and found out that they had a cracked fuel line (or something like that) I thought they might be pirates trying to steal our fish!!! We gave them a tow back to their campsite, a good poke away. It would have taken them a long time to row back. By the time we got back to our campsite, it was dark and the bugs were bad while the guys cleaned the fish - but we did a good deed for the day.

TREASURES

Ron, Mary and myself with one of our stringers - plus the rod and reel that Ron pulled in. He had it by the very tip of the rod - he thought it was a branch but we were all surprised when he pulled up a complete rod and reel plus a lure - he'll clean it up and use it. We got a complete rod and reel once in Tunnel Lake and we use it all the time. Works like a charm. You never know what you are going to hook into - it is always a surprise.

FISH CLEANING STATION

This was where they did some of the fish cleaning. Rejean had his electric filet knife powered by a battery - it served us well as the fishing was great!! We took home our limit of walley and a couple of pike and a couple of bass plus we had a big fish dinner one nite and everyone caught lots of fish. Not bad for not knowing the lake. We will be back!!

THE PIKE MAN

Rejean caught all the pike on this trip so we now call him the Pike Man. This beaut was caught in 2 Pike Bay (we named the little bays we discovered according to what we caught in them) and it jumped completly out of the water - a sight to see for sure. But Ron had put his rod down to net Rejean's fish and he had a habit of not reeling in his line so when the fish was coming around to the side his rod was in, I picked it up to get it out of the way and discovered he had a fish on too!!! I yelled that he had a fish on too but that I would take care of it so Ron could net Rejean's larger pike (wasn't I nice). So Ron, in fact, landed his own pike.  I think he thinks I did that on purpose (I will never tell...)
Rejean did lose a BIG pike - he had it on for a few minutes and we did get a look at it - and it was big - but he didn't have a wire leader on as we weren't fishing for pike so he did eventually loose it but everyone had fun watching him fight it.  And they do call it fishing, not catching...

MY USUAL VIEW

In Ron's boat he has placed 2 lawn chairs for the extra people - when we were on our way out or in I would turn the chairs around and put my feet up and enjoy the view of where we were coming from instead of where we were going - a different way of looking at things plus it wasn't as windy in your face.

LET THERE BE FISH

Aubrey Lake from the sandy beach near the designated camping spot. We have caught walley here before and there is bass and pike so we are bound to catch something. Don't you think?
