JUST A FEW MORE SNOW PICTURES

Even the little squirrels are buried under the snow.  They eat nonstop all day.

Looking across the bay Jimmy's Point is under a bit of snow.  The little bench on the point is  being swallowed by the fluffy white stuff.

Plus just a couple more nice snowy pictures brought to us by Mother Nature on April 17.

And it has just started snowing again...

OOTD

My outfit of the day was my winter coat with the hood up because IT WAS SNOWING.  Another 6 inches or so of fresh white snow.  But I think we dodged a bullet based on the rest of the province.  I will take snow over freezing rain any day.
I got some action shots of the two Downy or Hairy woodpeckers who frequent my neighbourhood for the suet I leave out.  Other birds like the bluejays enjoy it as well.
The Canada Geese and the Sandhill Cranes are back in the fields on the way to town.  I can't say that they are early because usually the latter part of April is supposed to be a bit warmer and greener than what we have right now.  But it can't last forever

MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY

Snowing right now and snow expected thru the week with accumulation - on top of all the stuff we already have.  At this rate, the snow will be here when the kids gets here in June!!!
On a good note, it would be the first time they have seen snow...

THAT MUSKRAT WAS WRONG...

We are being hit again today with another 6 inches of snow.  Will this never end!!  I thought we were done with the "6 more weeks of winter"  I think we are into the 7th or 8th week with no end in sight!
These pictures were taken today April 4th.  The Canada Geese and Sandhill's are back a wee bit early.
Snow and -10 - nice.

SISTERS

I was looking for an Easter picture with all three of us in it and this is what I found.  The top picture is of me and Joanne I think because Susan would have been taller than me and Joanne hadn't hit her "growth" spurt yet. We were probably going to church with out little hats and gloves and ankle sox on.  This was how we dressed back in the olden days. This was taken on the front steps of our house on Windermere Road in Windsor.
The second picture is of me and Susan dressed the same with our Easter baskets.  Joanne would only have been 3 months old.  Looks like I had a few chocolate bunnies before Easter.
I don't know where the third picture was taken but we are all there including our pet cat that I don't remember.
And the last picture was taken on our kitchen table on Windermere Road by my Aunt Sonia.  I still remember those dresses.  Aren't we sweet.

MOTHER NATURE'S APRIL FOOL'S DAY JOKE ON US

Well, this happened yesterday.  It snowed all day long and finally stopped around 6pm or so.  Looks like about 8 or 9 inches based on the amount on Rejean's truck!!!.  We were invited to dinner at Ron and Mary's house and when we left at 4pm the highway had not been plowed and it was a bit dicey but we made it.  Coming home was even worse - they had only plowed the north bound side and, as I was going southbound,  I had to drive on that side and hope that a big truck wasn't just around the curve.  I only met one car and it pulled into LimberLost so no issues there.  And windy!!!  We could see the "waves" of snow on Jobam from Ron and Mary's kitchen.  It put on quite the show.
Not the way we expected to spend April 1st but it could be worse I suppose.  Rejean will be blowing snow this morning.

And I did see "bunny" tracks in the snow - but I don't see any Easter Eggs!!!

Happy Easter everyone

THE BRUSHER

Yesterday I drove up the highway to get a picture of the machine that is doing the brushing along the road.  It really is a beast - that blade just decimates whatever it encounters - and leaves nothing but chips and sticks.  It has been a number of years since it was last done so it really has it's work cut out for the MTO - and Hydro still has some clearing to do as well.  There are a number of trees along the hydro lines that have been marked with the florescent orange and blue "H".  But the downed trees is also some one's supply of firewood.  It is not unusual to see people with their chain saws and trailers along the ditches blocking and hauling the good stuff.  Otherwise, it would just rot.
