If you have wondered what that thing is in the left hand corner of the blog - the one that says as of this minute 117,788 - that is how many times my blog has been viewed since April 2008 when I started this thing.
That's a lot of views!!!!

MOSQUITOE TIME
It's that time of year where all you do is swat mosquitoes. It is a banner year for them. We have zappers in every room - and when we are sitting, we each have one. I was making dinner the other nite and I had to go put on sox and long pants and tuck them into my sox and put my hoodie over my head and tie it. In my house!!!! They come in on your clothes!! When you wake up in the morning - awakened by a mosquitoe on your face - there has to be hundreds on the screen trying to get in. They are very annoying!!
But I think we are building up a tolerance to them. I know I have bites but they aren't itchy or haven't caused a welt. And just when you think you can't take it anymore, the beautiful dragon flies come out. They eat the mosquitoes and black flies (which really haven't been that bad - just the mosquitoes).
Just the price we pay to live up north.

PINK LADY SLIPPERS AKA TESTICLE PLANTS
The Pink Lady Slippers are out around here. They are becoming very rare due to loss of habitat and people trying to transplant them - which is just about impossible. But around here, they are safe and sound - except for the time I accidentally beheaded one a few years ago. I only take pictures of them now.
This is a picture I took with my new camera but the jury is still out if I am going to keep it. It is a bit bigger than my other one which recently lost it's brain. And one of the reasons I like the digital cameras is that they are small enough to fit in your pocket. So I am still deciding...

THE CASINO AND GODZILLA
We spent the night in the Sault due to doctor appointments on consecutive days. We decided to take in a movie while we were there and Godzilla in 3D just happened to be playing at the Galaxy Theatre. The evening movie started at 8:30 so we had some time to kill after dinner. We hit the casino. What we usually do is each have $20 and we play until it's gone. I like the Wheel of Fortune or the Blazing 7's slot machines and I found a Blazing 7 I liked. Rejean watched. I slid my twenty into the slot and pressed the maximum bet button and watched 3 Blazing 7s come up - the bells rang and I tried to figure out how much I had won. I thought it was 600 quarters but it was the wrong colour Blazing 7s. I had won $55.50. I was thrilled. I pressed the cash out button, got my ticket and collected my winnings and walked out the door. Rejean never even got to play.
Paid for the movie and popcorn!!!
ps - the movie was good but I would have liked to see more of Godzilla

DUMP DAY
Saturday is dump day - during the summer Wednesday is too. I knew there was a Poker Run going on out of Little Rapids heading up to the Post so before I hit the dump, I hit the Post for some pictures of all the action. A few were lined up for gas for the trip back to Little Rapids. Keith was standing at the door waving at everyone. Good business for him. Lunch was served for the riders behind the Post and I got a shot of all the bikes. I got a kick out of one of the passengers on the ride. See the dog in the last picture? I wonder if he had a helmet to wear…
It was a beautiful day for the ride. I noticed a few of the bikes were coated in mud - must have found a few puddles along the trails altho it has been dry lately. Probably made for a lot of dust on the ride.
I might go on the one next year. Everyone looked like they were having a good time and now that I have my new tires...
Rejean washed his tractor this morning. First time and it needed it. Nice and clean now ready to move some dirt ;o)
