7 MONTHS ALREADY

Jodie says it is getting hard to get them to stay still while she gets the shot.
I see they are doing their own editing and picking the best picture  on the I-Pad

I think they chose well

Just love these little guys so much!!!

JUST ONE MORE - FOR TODAY

Monty on the left and Charlie on the right - confirmed by Jodie.
Jodie has been sending videos of them trying to crawl.  Monty waves his arms and legs while laying on his tummy like he is flying and Charlie goes up on his hands and toes - push ups!!  I can tell they are close to getting it right.
Oh the fun videos I will be getting.

I just love being a Grandma!!!

NICE DAY FOR A BURN

We joined Ron and Mary for a snowmobile ride up at Hinkler today.  Perfect conditions - sunny and mild but according to the thermometer at camp, it was 25 degrees (80 F)  Pretty hot in the sun!!
We travelled along the road and spotted tons of animal tracks - moose, fox, wolf and other smaller creatures.
It was a good day today.

LOOKING GOOD

She was back again today - just hanging around like before.

Nice to have her back!!

OOPS

Apparently, this is exactly where Mitch wanted this tree to fall.  Joanne thought it was a sneaky way to get a new dock.  Lots of kindling for the fire and actually, it is easier to cut it up.  By Monday this tree - and the dock for that matter - will be long gone.

Mitch is available for any tree you want removed close to your house - must have insurance!!

CHARLIE AND MONTY ON VACATION

The kids were on vacation last week in the Seychelles.
Looks like the boys had fun in the sand.  They certainly are experienced travellers.
And I know Canada is on their list of places to see this year…can't wait!!!!

LOOK WHO CAME TO LUNCH

It was March's LLL (Local Ladies' Luncheon) held in beautiful downtown Thessalon at the Sunset Beach Restaurant which was doubling as a baby shower for Cheryl's new grandson.  We had over 25 ladies show up - everyone except the guest of honour, who we forgot to tell and had other plans for today.  Everyone had a good chuckle over our mistake and the gifts were later delivered to her house.  But we had a surprise visit from our local MPP Michael Mantha who just happened to be in town and looking for someplace to have a nice lunch.  As soon as he walked in the door and saw our table of lovely ladies, he couldn't help himself and asked if he could join us.  How could we refuse.  I was at the opposite end of the table from him but I could hear the laughter and observed the girls engaged in conversation with him,  sometimes serious but mostly light heartedly. He was given a copy of our new Valley Voice newsletter and he was very interested in the contents and he made a few suggestions that will be followed up by the committee.  He was just so friendly, personable  and easily blended into our celebrations.  Jane brought the cake and Michael happily posed with it.  At the end of the luncheon he suggested a group photo.  I think he was glad he chose Thessalon for lunch.

A good time was had by all - except Cheryl…:o(

ps - it was one of the Sunset Beach's cook's birthday today so all the ladies ate the little cake cars and we sang Happy Birthday to the cook and gave her the bigger cake.

GIRL'S ONLY

It was probably the last day that you could get out on the snowmobile trails so Mary and I did exactly that - just the 2 of us.  Ron loaded my machine up and we drove to the Trading Post and unloaded and said our goodbye.  We had our cell phones, lunch and water so we were all set.  And what a beautiful day - sunny and mild.
We headed towards Iron Bridge but the trail was too bare so we decided to do the trail to Wakamata for lunch and we made the right choice.  The trail was perfect.  And we never met another soul on the trails which I found very hard to believe.  The Sunday at the start of Spring Break and no one out on the trails.  It was the first time I had the machine out by myself - not counting zooming around our lake.  I usually ride double with Rejean while he drives.  Mary is an experienced rider and she said I did very well - we didn't go real fast but fast enough to make it interesting.  There were some hills and curves and turns and I kept up.
We had a great day and I am sure it will not be my last Girl's Only ride.

GUESS WHO'S BACK

Two weeks after her homecoming, Poopsy made her first appearance as if nothing had happened.  Her fur was coming in a bit more but since the weather is getting milder, she has a few clumps at her hips.  She peeked in the window and waited patiently while I got something for her.  Then she trotted off down the driveway.
Then last nite we were visited by two smaller raccoons - they just nosed around in the bird seeds then were on their way.
And my ravens are back.  Spring has definitely sprung.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANE!!

It was a surprise birthday party for Diane last Saturday nite.  She was very happy to see all of us coming thru the door - all hopes for a quiet evening at home with family dashed.  Doug had called everyone about a week before.  As usual, the guys collected in certain areas and the women in other parts of the house but we all came together to get a piece of birthday cake!!  Tons of food and friends - what a great evening.  And Diane is holding one of her gifts - a loaf of bread!!  Boy did it smell good!!

Here's to another great year, Diane!!  Happy Birthday!!

MITCH!!

Freezing rain all day long so the guys stuck around here and worked on the blind and spread some trap rock on the ice rink we call our road.  A lot different than the +16C temperature in Calgary today that Mitch could have been enjoying instead of being here.  Mitch painted the windows while Rejean cut the glass.  After the rain stopped, they got out and used the tractor to spread the trap rock so that we could walk and drive on the road.  Mitch got to drive the tractor.  You really need your Icers today.  I didn't fall, which is a good thing.

GIRL'S NIGHT OUT

Ute had a Pampered Chef party last night so Mary, Diane and I headed into town to join the festivities.  Any excuse to get out of the house is a welcome occasion especially after such a bad February and winter for that matter.  It was a full house with a lot of Ute's new friends from town.  I met a lot of ladies I didn't know but had seen in town the past couple of years - it is nice to put a name to a face (while I still could remember their names).  Speaking of remembering names, our Pampered Chef representative remembered every one's name - I kid you not.  When she spoke to us, she mentioned our names every time.  I was in awe as I have a hard time remembering names.  Kim said her trick is when she meets someone new, she has them repeat their names and she does as well.  And it works for her.
One of the highlights of a Pampered Chef party is that food is prepared using items that are available for sale.  The menu last night was a Mediterranean pizza and a lemon desert.  I am not one for black olives but when they are cut up into such small pieces, I barely noticed them and when mixed with the tomatoes, garlic and cheese, well, it was delicious!!  And the desert!!  Some lemon pie filling, half a package of white cake mix, an egg and marshmallows combined to make one amazing desert and I am not a desert girl but this one was one I will have to keep in my "to make list".
I bought a couple of things that I needed but certainly could have ordered a whole lot more and she did mention a party dedicated strictly to salsas - hmmmm.  Nice hot day, salsa and margaritas - goes so well, doesn't it…
Thanks for the party, Ute.  We all had a great time.

MY FIRST SMOOTHIE

A couple of handfuls of fresh blueberries, a kiwi and a "mature" banana, a bit of water and voila - my first smoothie.  And it was tasty.

Apparently you have to put 50% greens but I didn't have any on hand so I just made a pure fruit smoothie.  I will have to pick up some spinach next time I am in town.  And maybe some chia seeds - if Valu-Mart carries them.

Any favourite smoothie recipes you want to share...

THE DOUBLE BLIND

This is the winter project - I guess I get my new floor next year.  Roger and Rejean have been working on this off and on for the past week and they have made good progress.  It was supposed to be comfortable for two hunters but I am pretty sure you could put 3 in there with room to spare.  The windows will be glass and Barry will be making the camo curtains for it.  Once it is all assembled and painted,  they will take it apart for transport to the location they picked out last season.

It will make for one comfortable hunt this year.

THE RELEASE

Poopsy came home yesterday.  As you remember, Poopsy had mange and I took her to the Wild At Heart Animal Sanctuary in Lively for treatment in the middle of November.  She recovered and I was able to bring her back home.  She was very quiet on the way home in the car and once the sheet was removed from her cage, she looked around.  I put some food into her cage but she wasn't interested in it - I think she knew she was home and just wanted out.  I opened the cage door and after a few seconds of hesitation, she ran out.  It was a bit slippery on the driveway and she didn't make a graceful exit.  She stopped, got her bearings and headed off down the driveway.  She wasn't as fluffy as I thought she would be but I am sure she will fill out.
I have seen her tracks around today so I think she is hanging around but I haven't seen her but I will be looking.

SHARING

Today's picture from Jodie was too cute not to share, so here it is.

Now don't quote me but I am pretty sure that is Monty on the left and Charlie on the right.  Until I hear from Jodie, I could be wrong.  But right now it really doesn't matter.  Just looking at the two little guys playing together is so awesome.  Love them sooooooo much!!

Thank you Jodie for sending me all these pictures every day!!  They are my treasures!!
