HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSAN

May 18th is my sister Susan's birthday.

Happy Birthday To You
Happy Birthday To You
Happy Birthday Dear Susan
Happy Birthday to You

I love you with all my heart.  I can't imagine my life without you in it.  The adventures we have had together fill my heart with such joy and happiness.  Can't wait for the next one to begin.  And we get to share being Grammas to Twins!!  How much fun is that going to be?  Who'da thunk that would ever happen to us?

Oh the fun we are going to have…together.

A VERY SPECIAL ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY...

Yes boys and girls, it has been one year since my last bill from Ontario Hydro.  They simply stopped sending me one.  I called every month for 6 months wondering where my bill was.  I got several different stories from several different people.  But the one thing that was the same was the message that if I needed time paying my bill they would work with me.  I said I wasn't worried about paying my bill, I was worried about ever receiving my bill ever again.  I said I just wanted someone to sit down with my bill and fix it.  They were working on it.  I wasn't the only one in this position - I was one of over 10,000 customers!!!  I said that was very poor customer service.  I submitted my complaint to the Ombudsman along with thousands more from other Hydro One customers.  I see they are working on a class action suit so I am in.
I just can't understand how a company can stay in business without sending a bill to it's customers.
Oh I have been paying on this bill from the start.  I have, according to my Hydro One Manage My Account, a credit of over $2000 on this account so when they finally get my bill straightened out, I will not be too far in the hole.
I have read a number of horror stories about Hydro One and my problem is nothing compared to what others are going thru but I am just sick and tired of it.  Come on, no bill for one whole year? WTF!!

FIX THE PROBLEM, HYDRO ONE!!!

JUST PASSIN' THRU

Sitting in my usual morning spot watching Canada AM and saw a big white thing coming in for a landing on the lake.  It was a swan!!  First time we have had this type of bird on the lake.  I didn't get a chance to get out my trusty bird book so I couldn't compare neck arches etc to see what kind of swan it was but my guess is that it is a Tundra Swan.  I crept out (in my bathrobe and slippers) to try and get a good shot but this is the best I got.  It checked out the bay then slowly swam down the middle of the lake and then I saw it flying the same as the loon has to do - a few times around the lake to get up enough altitude to clear the trees.  Rejean called Steve on his cell phone - waking him up I believe - to get him to try and get a better shot as his bunkie is in the bay.  I'll have to wait and see what he managed to get - probably a lot better than my shots.

Too bad he didn't stick around to play with the 15 or so ducks we have on the lake.  No loon to chase them away - yet.

THE WAYWARD BOUQUET

It is difficult to get deliveries up here - Purolator and Costco delivers as close as the Post and Sears only to Thessalon so to get these beautiful flowers delivered was quite the feat.  They are my Mother's Day bouquet from Spacey and Andrew.  I spoke with Spacey on Sunday and she asked if I had received my package and I said no but I would keep an eye out for it.  Nothing on Monday and she called again on Tuesday and I still hadn't seen anything - she said the company had confirmed it was delivered to the front door - I had seen nothing.  Steve said he had seen a package on Spacey's porch and lo and behold, there was my package.  It may have been there on Saturday or Monday at the latest.  The box was wet because we have had a lot of rain but it certainly didn't do the flowers any harm.  They were perfect.  And they smell wonderful.  Nothing like a beautiful flower bouquet to make my day.

Thank you Spacey and Andrew!!!

THANKS JODIE AND DAVE - I THINK...

I got a Mother's Day gift and Rejean an early Father's Day gift from Jodie and Dave.  A desert safari when we go to Abu Dhabi.  On one of these beasts.

I am speechless - but excited.  Can't wait.  Really.  Really I am.  Honest.

Gonna have to dig out my camel riding clothes...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

A  Happy Mother's Day wish to everyone today.

And a special Happy Mother-To-Be Day to Jodie and to Malorie who are both expecting twins - within 2 weeks of each other!!

It will be a wonderful Mother's Day for them next year.

NOW THAT DIDN'T TAKE LONG AT ALL

The name is Poopsie - Mary named him/her as we share the same fox.  They have had the same two foxes hanging around their place all winter.  We have seen tracks but only recently caught a glimpse of him running away.  Well the other nite I got a shot of him in the dark with my camera - see the two glowing eyes?  He came around the other nite when John and Linda were over watching the hockey game and I got some food for him.  He is so little - his legs look like toothpicks.  And a nice big white tip on his tail.  But there is a light "band" across his back side so Mary has taken to calling him Poopsie.    So Poopsie it is.  He is still really skittish as you can see in the 4th picture but then again, it was really windy so even blowing leaves scared him.
I missed Boots a lot but now I have another one to enjoy.
