ROGUE LOG

We discovered this floater the other morning - it came loose from the beaver dam we think but even if it didn't, that is where it is going. I think that is the after dinner project for the guys.

FIRST GUY'S ONLY WEEKEND

We have Rick, Steve, Andy and Gavin up this week - just the guys - no girls (except me because I live here and I have work to do like splitting wood, working at the hall, washing, cleaning and getting my car serviced etc. etc). Gavin and Rick (aka Grandpa) went fishing today. What a glorious day it is too. Perfect for some quality time together. They also walked over to the other garage where Rejean and I were splitting wood. He sanded down the new bench that Steve put together. It is a working weekend too, so Gavin is learning the ropes.
How was your day?

ps - Gavin put on a life-jacket before they headed out - I do have a picture of it.

MY WORK STATION

Just a view from the bar. My arm is sore today from lifting the drinks up to the ledge. I should have stood on a box. We had vodka, rum, scotch and whiskey. I was a bit concerned when I couldn't find any ginergerale (the bride's family had stocked the bar) so I sent someone to buy some at the Post but only 2 people asked for gingerale with their drinks - I forgot I was serving Americans!! They went thru a lot of tonic!!! I`ll know better next time.
I worked the bar from 3:30 til 9:30 and had a riot.  I enjoyed it.  But I didn't remember what people drank except for a few.  I had to ask people to refresh my memory about their drink choices.  They had no problem doing that.  And I got $60 in tips for the Hall!!  I had to remind a few people not to take their drinks outside when they went out for a smoke and I checked for ID a couple of times.  It was a well behaved crowd - except for the rowdy table at the back where Keith and his friends were sitting.  You could hear him laugh all nite long.

THE BUFFET TABLE

We had ham, chicken mole, scallop potatoes, glazed carrots, corn and rice. We also had taco salads and guacomole salad (all chosen by the bride). I wasn't sure about the chicken mole but Vickie assured me it was good and, it was!! It is a Mexican dish that she prepares for her family. And she made the taco and guacomole salad. It went very fast!!

TADAAA

Phyllis finished the cake on Saturday before the wedding and I think it turned out just great and it was delicious. I had a small piece after everyone had left. It was chocolate - my favourite!! One of those sunflowers was made by me!!!

THE BOUQUET

Following the sunflower theme, this was the bride's bouquet. She also let us take home a centre piece containing real sunflowers!! Thanks!! They were beautiful!!
